Crumpler Brians Hot Tub

Once on, Brian's Hot Tub is incredibly comfortable, even when filled to capacity. A good thing about this bag is that it doesn't look like a camera case - it simply looks like a backpack. One of the many positive aspects of this bag is the placement of the zip. SOme backpacks make it easy for equipment to be stolen - even when you're wearing it. On this model it's hidden behind the straps, which means that once you're wearing it can't be opened - accidentally or otherwise. This will ensure that would-be thieves go home empty handed.

Brian's Hot Tub isn't just a camera bag - it's an extra security measure for your gear.

VERDICT - Brian's Hot tub is stylish, sturdy and very secure. Not everyone likes backacks, but if you do, this is in a league of its own. SCORE 9/10

Crumpler Brians Hot Tub

Accessing the main compartment through the back of the bag, rather than the front, takes some getting used to at first. Brian's Hot Tub shows a typical disdain for convention, as do many of this Australian company's other products. The surprises don't stop one you've got into the bag. The whole internal compartment is a removable semi-hard shell with a mesh cover, leaving this bag for use as a standard rucksack when you've finished photographing.

The extra security offered by the rear access will be great for built-up areas, and the dual purpose interior makes it a versatile option.

Crumpler Farmers Double Backpack

Australian gadget bag maker - Crumpler, has added an exciting new line of backpacks to their already extensive range of camera bags and pouches. We were sent the Farmers Double; a photo back-pack that can also accommodate a 17" laptop - ideal for serious digital photographers. That said, even if you don't shoot tethered to a notebook, the pack is inconspicuous enough for travelling to, or from, work and if you remove the separate padded camera compartment in the base, there's still enough room for paper files, packed-lunch and a waterproof jacket. At the weekend, the base can be re-instated and you can indulge in your favourite pastime. The velcro adjustable base is roomy and deep enough to hold two or three lenses and two large SLR bodies . . . The overall impression is of a very well made and extremely durable pack.

Crumpler Shrinkle Backpack

. . . actually looks more like a sports bag than a camera bag - useful if you don't want to attract attention to expensive contents. The bag opens from the back as well, which means you won't cover the harness in grime every time you put it down to open it. . . . Once on your back it's very comfy with arched padding that's moulded to your back.

Crumpler Puppet Backpack

Carrying your photographic equipment for long distances can be a real pain in the neck - literally so with some bags and cases.Yet spreading the load across both shoulders by using a photo backpack, such as the Puppet from Crumpler, can make life much easier.

With external dimensions of 44x33x22cm, The Puppet is designed to hold an SLR camera body, such as a Canon 350D with a standard zoom lens fiited, plus two or three additional lenses and acessories. The camera storage area has adjustable dividers and is contained within a removable mesh insert. This makes the pack particularly handy for those who want to put it to other uses. There is also a removable padded case capable of holding a smaller (14in) laptop, so the bag could be ideal for the digital photographer on the move.
