Tamron 28-75mm f2/8 XR Di

The Verdict: "The Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 zoom handles well and balances nicely on the camera making a unit that is easy to handhold steadily at longer exposure times. Although lighter than some, it is a load you know is there. The overall impression is of a lens giving sharp, contrasty and well-graded images. Performance close-up, in macro mode, is exceptionally good and for users with applications requiring this quality, it makes the lens an attractive proposition. It is a sound, all-round workhorse that can tackle a very wide variety of subjects. A good deal more might have to be paid for a noticeably better performance. Any search for a 'standard' focal length span zoom should certainly take this Tamron into account".
