WHAT THE PRESS SAY . . . ZIGVIEW

The world's first Digital Angle Finder makes low and high level photography easy with its unique rotating LCD monitor.

Seculine Zigview S2

Verdict: I always expect to spend some time experimenting in order to get the most out of a new piece of hardware, but using the Zigview S2 has proven in some respects to be a uniquely frustrating experience. However, I will immediately qualify that statement by saying I am very impressed by its performance as an electronic angle finder. The real-time relay of the viewinder image is a huge benefit when shooting from awkward angles, and if I did a lot of low or high-level work I would seriously consider putting one on my Christmas list. Coupled with the RV01 and an extender, the Zigview S2 also becomes an effective remote motion-sensing device, as well as as interval timer and a remote release-unit. However, using these advanced features is made very difficult by the navigation system which, depending on what you're trying to achieve, fluctuates between being merely quirky and infuriatingly complicated.
Another factor to consider is that once you have invested in a few accessories, the total cost of the Zigview package will end up being around £300. Compared to some beam-type motion triggers this is still exceptionally cheap, but it is still a lot of money for most photographers.

  • Very useful for low-angle work
  • Lots of features for the money
  • Improved screen over previous models
